This means that at the level of the soul, the souls of humanity are group conscious, they are aware of each other and do not feel as separate and individuated as the beings on the physical plane who may be more than a little self-absorbed. As nice a concept as this is, it doesn’t mean much to most people because, by and large their awareness is not buddhic or even at higher manas.
This sense of soular group is often ray group. It is not always the case; beings from all rays can feel the same motivating impulse and because of this get together as a collective for some endeavour or other. People all over the world can suddenly get the same impulse and though physically separated move together as a group without being physical plane cognizant.
I was introduced to the idea of group meditations by the Arcane School full moon meditations. I was curious to see if I could note others at a distance. Sure enough, after a while there was a palpable sensation of others coming “on-line” so to speak. After a while one felt a “pull” when it was time, no need to set a clock. The more one tuned in to it the more powerful it became, there was a nice sense of minds around the globe aspiring and evoking or invoking the same thing. There was a lot of good will. After a while I found it slightly intrusive, so I slowly eased out of it. Even today many years later I occasionally drop by, when the impulse comes, usually at wesak.
This kind of thing is very different from team working at a task or group / institutional mind on lower manas. A major barrier to team working is always personality reactions. I have directed at least half a dozen team development courses with facilitated tutor groups. And on each course the collective group mind was different. As director I had to keep an eye on the group mind of the entire course, the group mind of the tutor team and the group mind within each tutor team. Occasionally I had to intervene to help a tutor. I am not afraid of a bit of confrontation; it can be the best thing since sliced bread under some circumstances. In one of the quotations about complaining “diva” behaviour is mentioned and quite often this is a major source of ruination in teams. Someone goes all diva, and the team has to tend to this massive I in the mix. I have met a lot of people prone to diva behaviours over the years, I was an academic after all.
It is only after one can rise above, literally, all the petty personality reactions that one starts to get a sense of what I call soular connectivity. It is free, easy, not at all demanding and very Aquarian. It is so light, feather like. If someone is of a second ray soul and they are to a fair extent connected with it, I can spot them and usually we click. There are no communication barriers to speak of.
One of the biggest problems for the coming age is how to foster this soular connectivity so that people so connected can work effectively on the physical plane without all the damage wrought by personality reactions. It is why correspondence courses have a greater longevity that proximal group working.
Wouldn’t it be nice if we could all rise above our petty personality reactions and sit together in our buddhic consciousness?
That is something to aspire to!!
