Rainy Day Brew Session

It has been raining and we have just chopped up ~9kg of apples from the orchard. It is a shame I can’t do smell-o-vision. Very appley. They are now on to brew. The trick is to chop them into water with some lemon juice in it to stop them oxidising and going brown.

There are two 12 litre buckets of apple and two 5 litre demijohns of pear at the back.

In the foreground are brews from April ready to bottle.

This apple and cranberry is crystal clear. The cranberries add a nice bit of tannin.

This red made from bog standard grape juice has a nice shine to it, too. It works out less than 1 one euro per bottle
