What Does the Future Look Like?

The concept of future has been time varying quite a lot these last few weeks. Three weeks ago, I took the tachycardic wife to A&E where they triaged her for a suspected pulmonary embolism. Quite a dramatic thing.

Then we were given a potential diagnosis which suggested that her future was short.

My future involved perhaps, taking her to the crematorium, selling up in French and moving back to Wales.

Now we have been given a provisional treatment plan for her cancer.  It is going to be three weeks on and one week off for the next four months. The new diagnosis hints at an enhanced potential longevity.

I will be carer and taxi driver, purveyor of medication and chef.  I will check blood oxygen levels and generally assist.

It will be a long road back from that acute situation three weeks ago. But we have a pond to walk around, a log fire and a river

There is now some idea of what the next four months will bring. But I guess we shall still be taking it one day at a time.

It is funny, her brother had forgotten that I had had colon cancer back in 2015.

Weird…

Anyway, the car will again find its way on autopilot to the local hospital we may even get on “tu” terms with the gang there…

We will ramp up the loyalty bonus points at the local pharmacy…

And before we know it the first primroses will be here…
