Lenalidomide – Revlimid

This from Wiki…

Lenalidomide, sold under the trade name Revlimid among others, is a medication used to treat multiple myeloma (MM) and myelodysplastic syndromes (MDS). For MM it is used after at least one other treatment and generally together with dexamethasone. It is taken by mouth.

Lenalidomide was approved for medical use in the United States in 2005. It is on the World Health Organization’s List of Essential Medicines.

I found this on a Swiss pharmacy web site

Revlimid Kapseln 25mg 21 Stück

CHF 6544.90 — Expédition gratuite

Généralement prêt à être retiré dans les 24 heures.

Nice of them to ship it for free. This is, I suspect, a tax-free price and equates to roughly 6300 euros per pack or 300 euros per tablet!! Better not drop one of those little buggers on the floor.

I like the way it is priced to 90 centimes…sometimes the Swiss can be a tad odd, precise but odd.

The medics are talking about ~38,000 euros worth of this in the first instance and there are also shit loads of other drugs.

That is a lot of money!!
